Our Story

Mamie’s Magick Shoppe is a Black-owned metaphysical marketplace founded by Aniyyah Boone, offering divination tools and supplies. Our shop provides a wide range of products, including crystals, incense, sage, herbs, tarot cards, candles, jewelry, t-shirts, and more. Our mission is to offer items that facilitate spiritual healing, rooted in ancestral traditions.

The shop is named after Aniyyah’s great-grandmother, Mamie Ruth Cook Boone, whom she believes continues to walk alongside her in spirit. Years after Mamie's passing, Aniyyah was drawn to spirituality while seeking her life's purpose. During this journey, she developed a deep connection to healing crystals, tarot, and spiritual candles. Her commitment to the path was solidified after watching a pick-a-card tarot reading on YouTube, where an ancestor was said to be passing spiritual gifts from the other side—gifts that had long been nurtured within their own home and shared among a select few family members.

At first, Aniyyah believed these spiritual gifts came from her father’s Haitian lineage, known for its deep spiritual roots. However, after openly embracing her spirituality, family members from her African American side shared stories that revealed an unexpected connection. They recalled that her great-grandmother Mamie had practiced similar rituals, like burning sage and lighting candles. One close relative even mentioned being triggered by the familiar scents of Florida water, sage, and candles—scents they recognized but couldn’t place until now.

This revelation confirmed what Aniyyah felt all along: her great-grandmother Mamie was guiding her from beyond. Discovering their shared love for divination tools and spiritual practices strengthened Aniyyah's bond with her ancestral lineage. It’s said that Mamie frequently lit candles and prayed to protect her family and attract abundance. Today, Aniyyah proudly follows in her great-grandmother’s footsteps, continuing to work magick with the same benevolent intent.

“I would like to share Mamie’s essence with the world so that my customers will be inspired to connect with their ancestors for healing purposes and self-discovery. This shop will also serve as an example that magick can be used for good and be the very thing that can add to spiritual growth. Magick performed by black people has such a negative connotation but Mamie’s Magick Shoppe will prove otherwise.” -Aniyyah
